Honey garlic glazed salmon fillet with herbs and lemon

Quick & Easy

Honey Garlic Salmon

This is our go-to when we want a dinner that feels special but takes less time than delivery would. A sticky honey garlic glaze comes together in the same pan as the salmon, so it's ready in about 20 minutes with almost nothing to clean up.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets, skin-on
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp butter

Method

  1. Season the salmon. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until the skin is crisp and releases easily. Flip and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a plate.
  3. Make the glaze. Lower the heat to medium and add the garlic to the pan, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Whisk in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice, and let it bubble for 1 to 2 minutes until it starts to thicken slightly.
  4. Glaze the salmon. Return the salmon to the pan, skin-side up, and spoon the glaze over the top for about a minute, until the salmon is coated and cooked through — it should flake easily with a fork.
  5. Finish and serve. Remove from heat and stir the butter into the remaining glaze until glossy. Spoon over the salmon and serve immediately with rice or steamed vegetables.
Note: Watch the glaze closely once the honey is in the pan — it can go from thickened to burnt quickly over direct heat. If it darkens too fast, pull the pan off the heat for a few seconds and stir.
